Thinking of going with a Procharger...
« on: March 16, 2014, 06:43:36 PM »
Called around, and I got all different kinds of answers to the same questions.....

-Which size procharger for a 470 cube Mopar BB on pump gas 900hp ish for bracket racing? (no serp belts)
Heard everything from  F1R to an F2 to F1X
Going to start out with a stock block, maybe a 400 w/girdle and go from there

-Which drive system for a fairly tight engine bay? (A-body)
I think after all the discussions, I might go with a crank drive unit....Fits with a stock water pump, I think.
Need a fairly short set-up as an A-body is not real big on space.
A side slinger hits the front cage mount and the intake is right where the #1 exhaust tube is
Reverse belt looks nice, but the water pump ends up no where's..

I am currently doing a 69 Dart, 25.3 Cert, with a big inch R3 small block, with W8 heads, and an intercooled F2. Holley Dominator EFI, etc.
If this thing doesn't make 1600-1700 HP, than we screwed something up. My best advice, do your homework, and surround yourself with guys that already know how the stuff works. Not sure how hard you are going to push it, but, I would be a little concerned with a 400 block and a decent amount of boost.

Yeah....Me too...
Hmmm........i'm no expert on this but you think that the fact of using a stock block is the reasoning for this?
