I feel your pain. Mine is currently almost 5hrs away from me. There was a gap in contact where he didn't answer texts, phone calls, or facebook messages so I got up early one morning and drove there unannounced. I showed up and sure enough, there was my car covered with dust and pushed in the back of the shop with nothing being done since the last time I was there months prior. I've heard so many bs excuses over the last couple years, I'm over the whole thing. Expensive lesson that I learned the hard way, I guess. Just think, you're tired after only a few months. Imagine fighting the bs for 2.5 years! LOL.

Also, when you take it to the next shop, MAKE SURE you get a completion date IN WRITING before you leave the car there. A reputable shop will know how long it's going to take to get the work done and should have no problem doing that, and gives you some recourse if it stretches too far beyond that date (breach of contract).

If this falls through the distance isn't going to bother me just that the job gets done in a timely fashion and to the quality I want. I was expecting 6 months and he had said the same thing I thought we were on the same page but I guess not.

If I had the skill and ability to do mine myself, I definitely would have! But I, like Kevin, wanted top notch quality. Mine is a 25.3, BTW. My next race car will be already built and I will just buy it.

Spoke to the chassi guy and he said tomorrow it'll be on the jig. I mentioned about the 6 months to be completed and he brought up he's a one ,man show. I give him to the first week of September if nothings done, I'm done waiting and I'm going to move my car out of his shop.
Time will tell

Ya I know they tell you what you want to hear. In one month if it's not touched it's outta there.

the worse thing I have seen that happens is they get started and the vehicle is disabled where it can't be moved easy. they do that to discourage you moving it. if substantial work isn't done yank it.

I gave him till the end of the month, plus I'm heading off to work tomorrow and even if he starts and it sits in a month I'll still pull it.
