KB HYPERTUTETIC PISTONS
« on: December 13, 2014, 12:12:07 PM »
Have a 340 im doing for the street and was thinking of bolting on a turbo. Will these pistons handle any kind of decent boost?

I would avoid them...You might already have them which is why you want to use them? But a decent set of forged pistons are not much more than KB hypers and provide alot more security imo when trying to tune a boosted setup.

If you already have the KB's just keep them on the self for something else or sell them to help fund the new forged slugs... my .02 cents

I already have the pistons. If i buy forged pistons then I'll have to rebalance the rotating assembly and im not doing that. I think im going to just assemble the motor put a decent turbo on it and see how fast i can get it to go before i melt it!. Im kinda using this as a learning curve because i have a really nice 360" w8 60mm cam combo i want to put a big turbo on. Thanks for your advice.

I hear ya! Good luck with it man...the forged is just more friendly to detonation, but if this is a fun build with what you got and you aren't so worried I would do the same thing...Keep us posted on how it runs! This going into the duster?
