Upgrading Shocks Have Some Questions
« on: March 18, 2015, 02:31:21 AM »
As my 1973 cuda continues its evolution into a street/strip car I was wanted to inquire about what I need to do to be able to add some double adjustable shocks all the way around it but more specifically for this thread the front shocks.

It is a completely stock set up as of now.  I'm wanting to add some double adjustable shocks like an AFCO or something like that.  Do I need to replace the stock control arms to do so?

not always but it's probably a good idea too go to the after market type, you can get a btter alignment.

You don't have to replace the stock LCA.  Like Bob said if your rules allow it not a bad idea, usually in conjunction with the uppers.  In either case the length typically is the same.

Here's a list of the 3850/60 Afcos.  You'll want to measure your suspension compressed and extended just to double check.

Good luck.

I need some help on what to do if I want to upgrade my 77 spider with a Weber 38 ADLD 150 . Unfortunately my car has the accelerator linkage with the drum and spring type.
What do I need to change if I want to install a 38 ADLD?
Thanks for the input
